**New Orleans, LA** – Grammy-winning singer Ledisi will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” the Black national anthem, at Super Bowl LIX, Fox announced today. This marks the fifth consecutive year the song will be featured in the Super Bowl pregame show. Ledisi will follow in the footsteps of Alicia Keys, Mary Mary, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Andra Day, who have previously performed the anthem.
The pregame festivities will also include Jon Batiste singing the American national anthem and a performance of “America the Beautiful” by Trombone Shorty and Lauren Daigle.
Ledisi, known for her powerful voice and genre-bending style encompassing R&B, soul, jazz, and funk, is a New Orleans native who began performing with the New Orleans Symphony Orchestra at the age of eight. She cites Nina Simone as a major influence, a tribute reflected in her 2021 album, *Ledisi Sings Nina*. Her diverse career also includes Broadway appearances and roles in film and television.
Super Bowl LIX will air on Fox, with commentary provided by Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady. Ledisi’s Super Bowl performance will kick off a three-month tour that will take her across the US, culminating at the New Orleans Jazz Fest.
