Mon Feb 10 09:34:02 UTC 2025: ## WazirX Publishes Creditor List Following $230 Million North Korean Hack
**Bengaluru, India (February 10, 2025)** – Indian cryptocurrency exchange WazirX has published a preliminary list of creditors and a snapshot of user balances as part of its ongoing restructuring process in Singapore. The move follows a July 2024 hack, now officially attributed to North Korean hackers, which resulted in losses exceeding $230 million.
The list, accessible via a unique UUID (Universally Unique Identifier), allows creditors to check their claim amounts in USD. WazirX has also implemented a “Find My Balance” feature for easy access to account information as it existed on July 18, 2024, at 1 PM IST, including token balances and post-hack deposits. Creditors can also request to inspect other creditor’s claims.
While some investors welcomed the transparency, others expressed concerns about the timeline for the restructuring vote and the resumption of crypto withdrawals. The exchange assures that these updates are in line with its restructuring scheme. The situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by cryptocurrency exchanges in combating sophisticated cyberattacks and protecting investor assets.
