Mon Feb 10 11:50:00 UTC 2025: **Triple Threat of Winter Storms to Slam US This Week**

**Washington, D.C.** – A relentless parade of winter storms is set to pummel much of the United States this week, bringing heavy snow and ice to millions. The FOX Forecast Center predicts at least three separate systems will impact the country, with the Northeast bearing the brunt of the wintry onslaught.

Following a weekend snowstorm that already blanketed parts of the Northeast and New England, a new system is brewing over the Plains. This first storm, which is already prompting Winter Storm Watches and Warnings for over 20 million people, is expected to bring heavy snow to parts of the central Plains, including Kansas, Missouri, and Iowa, by Wednesday. Kansas Governor Laura Kelly has declared a state of emergency, urging residents to prepare and avoid unnecessary travel. The storm will then track eastward, impacting the Ohio Valley, mid-Atlantic states (including Washington D.C. and Baltimore), and portions of the Northeast with heavy snowfall before moving offshore.

Hard on the heels of the first storm, a second system is forecast to develop over the Plains mid-week, bringing another round of heavy snow to the Midwest and Northeast by Thursday. This storm has the potential for the highest snowfall totals of the three. While the I-95 corridor is currently predicted to see more rain than snow, the forecast remains fluid.

A third storm is expected to form late this week into the weekend, delivering yet another dose of winter weather to the Plains and Northeast. The FOX Forecast Center warns that this disruptive weather pattern could even extend into the following week.

Authorities urge residents in affected areas to monitor weather forecasts closely, prepare emergency kits, and heed travel advisories.
