**New Delhi, February 10, 2025** – Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha (PPC) 2025 today at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The event focused on alleviating exam-related stress among students, with PM Modi engaging in a wide-ranging discussion covering various aspects of student well-being and academic performance.
The Prime Minister began the interactive session by treating students to til laddoos (sesame seed sweets) and offering health advice, including the importance of consuming millets and chewing food at least 32 times. He also shared insights into balanced nutrition, recommending certain foods while advising against others, and emphasizing the importance of mindful eating habits.
PPC 2025 addressed numerous student concerns. Responding to a question about leadership skills, PM Modi emphasized the importance of empathy, support, teamwork, and patience. He encouraged students to lead by example and understand the needs of others. Regarding extracurricular activities, he advised parents to support their children’s interests, even if outside traditional academics, using dance as an example. The PM also highlighted the importance of writing to improve skills and articulate thoughts.
Addressing the issue of parental pressure regarding career choices, PM Modi urged parents to avoid comparing their children and to instead support their children’s passions, citing Sachin Tendulkar as an example. He also stressed the importance of skill development.
The Prime Minister offered practical advice on managing exam stress, recommending mindfulness techniques like observing nature and practicing pranayama. He advocated for setting small, achievable goals, and advised students to share their anxieties with others. He also discussed the effective use of technology, warning against its misuse and emphasizing its potential for good.
Addressing the issue of exam failures, PM Modi highlighted that a significant percentage of students fail board exams each year, but it shouldn’t define their future. He used the analogy of cricket players reviewing their performance to learn from mistakes and improve. He encouraged students to solve previous years’ question papers to reduce exam anxiety and to reward themselves for achieving goals.
PM Modi also lauded a student’s question on climate change, sharing his own initiative, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, and engaging students in a tree planting activity, providing tips on proper tree care. He concluded by urging teachers to avoid comparing students and parents to understand their children’s capabilities beyond academics.
