**Bengaluru, February 9, 2025** – A 37-year-old man, G. Jayaveeran, was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru on Friday after returning from the United Kingdom with fraudulent documents. Immigration officials intercepted Jayaveeran, a private firm employee from Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, upon his arrival from London. He initially claimed to have lost his passport and returned using an emergency certificate.
However, investigations revealed that Jayaveeran, whose real name is Gobi Jayaveeran, had traveled to the UK in October 2017 using a forged identity under the name Mathumati Ramaswamy. He remained in the UK for eight years under this false identity.
A case has been registered against Jayaveeran by the International Airport Police based on a complaint filed by immigration official Anilkumar B Mangavati. The investigation into his activities in the UK is ongoing.
