**Mumbai, February 10, 2025** – Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid a visit to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray at his residence in Mumbai today. The meeting, described by both leaders as “friendly” and “personal,” fueled speculation amidst recent political tensions.

While CM Fadnavis confirmed that no political discussions took place, the visit comes on the heels of Thackeray’s criticism of the BJP last month. Thackeray had accused the BJP of overlooking a major scam and inducteding implicated leaders into the state cabinet, also questioning the results of the 2024 Assembly elections. The BJP dismissed these accusations as inaccurate.

Despite past tensions and the MNS’s unsuccessful independent run in the Assembly elections (failing to win a single seat), Thackeray had previously supported the BJP during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The unexpected meeting has sparked debate, particularly with upcoming local body elections on the horizon. However, both leaders maintain the meeting was purely social.
