**Madurai, February 9, 2025** – Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader Thol. Thirumavalavan attributed the INDIA bloc’s defeat in the recent Delhi Assembly elections to a lack of unity among its constituent parties. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, he criticized the Congress, Trinamool Congress, Aam Aadmi Party, and Samajwadi Party for failing to work together effectively. He urged these parties to analyze their inter-party dynamics and prioritize national unity, advocating for collaborative efforts not only during parliamentary elections but also in state-level contests.
Mr. Thirumavalavan also expressed serious concern over the rising number of sexual violence cases in Tamil Nadu, noting a disturbing parallel with increased violence against Dalits and minorities. He called for immediate action to curb this trend and proposed the establishment of a dedicated police intelligence wing to handle such crimes.
Furthermore, he condemned the Madurai district administration’s handling of the Tirupparankundram row, alleging irresponsible actions that exacerbated communal tensions. He accused the BJP and Sangh Parivar organizations of exploiting the situation for political gain. Mr. Thirumavalavan urged Hindus to be cautious of groups using religion to create divisions for electoral advantage, questioning why these organizations, while claiming to represent Hindu interests, remain silent on other issues affecting the Hindu community.
