Sat Feb 08 04:50:07 UTC 2025: ## Nag Chaitanya’s ‘Thank You’ Achieves Blockbuster Opening; Collects ₹16 Crore Worldwide
**Hyderabad, February 8:** Nag Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer “Thank You” (Telugu title: Thandel) has opened to a phenomenal response at the box office, grossing approximately ₹16 crore worldwide on its first day. The film, based on the true story of Sri Kakuulam fishermen who were imprisoned in Pakistan and their subsequent return to India, garnered significant positive reviews and strong advance bookings.
Trade analysts estimate that the film collected around ₹10 crore net (approximately ₹13 crore gross) in India alone, with the remaining revenue coming from overseas markets. The Telugu version contributed the majority of the collections, while Hindi and Tamil versions saw relatively lower earnings. The film’s team is expected to officially release the worldwide gross collection figures today.
This marks the biggest opening of Nag Chaitanya’s career, surpassing the ₹9 crore collected by his previous film, “Love Story.” The success led to immediate success celebrations by the film’s crew. With minimal competition and positive word-of-mouth, “Thank You” is expected to continue its strong performance throughout the weekend. The film’s performances, particularly Nag Chaitanya’s portrayal of the fisherman Raju and Sai Pallavi’s role as Bujji, have been praised by critics and audiences. The film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti and produced by Geetha Arts.
