Sat Feb 08 01:31:48 UTC 2025: ## Alaska Plane Crash Claims All 10 Lives: Wreckage Found Near Nome

**Nome, Alaska –** A Cessna aircraft carrying nine passengers and a pilot, which went missing Thursday during a flight from Unalakleet to Nome, has been found crashed approximately 34 miles southeast of Nome. The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) confirmed Friday that all ten individuals onboard are believed to be dead.

Three bodies were recovered from the wreckage, while the remaining seven are believed to be inside the inaccessible aircraft due to its condition. The USCG has concluded its search and rescue operation.

The plane, operated by Bering Air, experienced a sudden loss of altitude and speed before disappearing from radar. The search, hampered initially by poor weather and low visibility, intensified Friday with the addition of helicopter search teams from the National Guard and Coast Guard. Improved visibility allowed for the discovery of the wreckage.

While authorities have not yet released the identities of those onboard, the Nome Volunteer Fire Department has notified all families. Alaska State Troopers confirmed all passengers were adults.

Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy expressed his condolences, stating, “Our prayers are with the passengers, the pilot, and their loved ones during this difficult time.” The investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
