Sat Feb 08 08:35:39 UTC 2025: ## BJP Takes Early Lead in Patparganj as AAP’s Ojha Concedes Defeat

**New Delhi, [Date]** – Early results from the Delhi Assembly elections show the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) surging ahead in the crucial Patparganj constituency. BJP candidate Ravinder Singh Negi is currently leading with 42,263 votes, leaving Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Avadh Ojha significantly behind with 26,647 votes – a margin of over 15,000 votes.

Ojha, a prominent civil services exam tutor and newcomer to electoral politics, has already conceded defeat. He attributed his loss to an inability to connect with the electorate and pledged to contest the next election from the same constituency. Ojha replaced former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who held the seat for three consecutive terms, after Sisodia was shifted to the Jungpura constituency.

Congress candidate Anil Chaudhary is also contesting in Patparganj but is not currently a significant factor in the race.

The results from Patparganj reflect a broader trend suggested by exit polls, which predicted a strong BJP victory in the Delhi Assembly elections. If the trend continues, it would mark a significant shift in Delhi’s political landscape, ending the Aam Aadmi Party’s decade-long reign. The final results are still pending, but the early lead for the BJP in Patparganj signals a potential end to AAP’s dominance in the national capital. A display of sportsmanship was witnessed at the counting center as Negi and Ojha shook hands.
