**New Delhi** – The Delhi Assembly elections concluded yesterday with a voter turnout of 60.54%, a total of 94,51,997 votes cast across the city. According to the Election Commission of India (ECI), 50.42 lakh votes were cast by men and 44.08 lakh by women, with an additional 403 votes from third-gender voters. Vote counting is scheduled for Saturday.

While several exit polls predicted a BJP victory over the ruling AAP, with Congress projected to make minimal gains, some polls forecast an AAP win or a very close contest. This year’s turnout is slightly lower than the 62.59% recorded in the 2020 Assembly elections but higher than the 56% turnout in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Polling took place across 13,766 stations with 699 candidates vying for the 70 Assembly seats. Turnout varied across districts, with Northeast Delhi recording the highest at 66.25% and Southeast Delhi the lowest at 56.40%. Individual constituency turnout ranged from a high of 69.01% in Mustafabad to a low of 53.02% in Mehrauli. The ECI’s Special Summary Revision, 2025, lists a total of 1,55,24,858 registered voters in Delhi.
