**Thrissur, Kerala –** The 37th Kerala Science Congress opened today at the Kerala Agricultural University in Vellanikkara, Thrissur. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the event, presenting prestigious awards recognizing outstanding scientific contributions. The Congress, organized by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE), Kerala Forest Research Institute, and Kerala Agricultural University, features a strong emphasis on “Technological Transformation for a Green Future,” as highlighted in two keynote lectures.
Revenue Minister K. Rajan unveiled a compilation of research papers and posters presented at the Congress, while K.P. Sudheer, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, presided over the ceremony. M.K. Jayaraj, chairperson of the Science Congress, delivered a keynote address outlining the event’s objectives and importance.
A National Science Exhibition, running concurrently with the Congress until February 10th, is showcasing the work of over 160 stalls representing leading research institutions across Kerala, including the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, CSIR-NIIST, and various ICAR institutes. State-run research bodies and organizations such as Oushadhi and WWF are also participating. The free exhibition offers the public a unique opportunity to learn about advancements in science and technology and interact with leading scientists. The Congress concludes on February 10th.
