**Mumbai, February 7, 2025** – BJP MLA Niranjan Davkhare has proposed naming the under-construction Vadhavan Port in Palghar district after Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Davkhare, who made the suggestion during a district planning committee meeting, reported a positive response from authorities.
Beyond the port’s naming, the MLA raised several crucial local concerns. He highlighted the inactivity of the Manor Burn Centre due to staff shortages, the poor condition of toilets at a local school, and the underutilization of sonography machines in sub-district hospitals due to a lack of trained technicians. These issues, Davkhare stressed, force residents to seek expensive private healthcare.
