Fri Feb 07 13:52:09 UTC 2025: ## Sunrisers Hyderabad Shatters IPL Record with 287/3
**Bangalore, India** – The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season has rewritten the record books, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) setting a new global T20 franchise high score of 287/3 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This monumental total surpassed RCB’s previous record of 263/5, which had stood for over a decade.
The explosive innings was fueled by Travis Head’s stunning 102 runs off 41 balls and Heinrich Klaasen’s rapid 67 off 31. RCB, despite a valiant chase featuring impressive contributions from Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Dinesh Karthik, ultimately fell short at 262/7 – still the joint-highest IPL score while chasing.
Remarkably, eight of the top nine highest team totals in IPL history were achieved during the 2024 season, highlighting the explosive batting on display. SRH’s dominance was further underscored by their three entries in the top four highest scores of the season. Their other scores include 277/3 against Mumbai Indians and 266/7 against Delhi Capitals.
The 2024 season also witnessed a significant increase in high-scoring matches, with a staggering 41 instances of teams surpassing the 200-run mark, compared to only 11 in the inaugural 2008 season. This surge in high scores reflects the evolving nature of T20 cricket and the increasing batting prowess in the IPL.
