**Godavarikhni, Telangana:** A new box cricket ground has opened in Godavarikhni, Peddapalli district, offering a unique recreational opportunity for the region’s residents. Nag Raju and Sai Kumar, local entrepreneurs, established the facility in just two hours. The ground, designed for practice matches only, features netting surrounding a compact playing area with artificial turf, promising a dust-free experience regardless of playtime.

Rental for the ground is priced at ₹600 per hour. Standard cricket rules apply, with the exception of no-balls, wides, and overthrows. A ball hitting the wall is considered out, and leg-byes are not awarded. Teams are limited to six players. The artificial turf and netting minimize player effort and maximize playtime.

Box cricket, previously limited to major cities, is gaining popularity in smaller towns as a stress-relieving activity. Raju and Kumar highlight the sport’s stress-reducing benefits and plan to expand their facilities to include volleyball and shuttle courts in the near future.
