**Bengaluru, February 6, 2025** – Internationally acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer Dr. Vyshnavie Sainath Prabhu will perform her solo dance ballet, “Manas Strotah – myriad emotions through dance,” at Karunashraya, a Bengaluru hospice center, this weekend. The performance, scheduled for February 8th at the Karunashraya Hall, is open to the public and aims to raise awareness and funds for the facility.
Dr. Prabhu, a Goldman Sachs scholar (IIM Bangalore) and TedX speaker, uses dance as a medium for social impact and healing. “Manas Strotah” explores the nine emotions (nava rasas) through stories from Indian mythology, showcasing the therapeutic power of dance. The ballet, choreographed by her mother, renowned dancer Rajeswari Sainath, will also feature rhythmic poetry on Shiva.
Dr. Prabhu, who has presented dance ballets on diverse themes including mythology, social issues, medical themes, and women’s empowerment, emphasizes the connectivity between performer and audience. She views this performance as an opportunity to leverage Indian arts for social good, building upon her family’s legacy and her own commitment to making dance socially relevant.
