**Davos, Switzerland –** Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s ambitious plan to make Telangana a net-zero emissions state by 2047, including the development of India’s first net-zero carbon city near Hyderabad, has garnered significant international attention at the World Economic Forum (WEF) annual meeting in Davos.
Reddy’s presentation at the “Building Regenerative and Circular Places” session resonated with global business leaders, who expressed keen interest in learning more about investment opportunities in the state. In a letter to the Chief Minister, WEF President Borge Brende and Managing Director Mirek Dusek praised Reddy’s “Rising Telangana 2050” vision, highlighting its focus on advanced technology, talent development, clean energy, and sustainable growth.
The Telangana delegation’s trip to Davos, concluded last month, resulted in a remarkable ₹1.78 lakh crore in investment commitments. The WEF also acknowledged Telangana’s collaboration on the Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (C4IR) Telangana, a partnership focused on advancing health tech and life sciences. The initiative’s success further solidified Telangana’s position as a leader in sustainable development and technological innovation.
