**CHICAGO, IL –** Villanova Wildcats secured a 59-49 victory over the DePaul Blue Demons Wednesday night in a Big East Conference matchup. Jordan Longino led the Wildcats with 17 points (8-of-14 shooting), while Eric Dixon contributed 14 points despite a challenging shooting night (4-of-14). Wooga Poplar added 12 points to the Wildcats’ winning effort.
DePaul’s David Thomas scored a team-high 16 points, with CJ Gunn adding 13 points and 5 steals in a losing effort. Layden Blocker chipped in 6 points and 6 assists for the Blue Demons.
Villanova established a lead with just over three minutes remaining in the first half and maintained control for the remainder of the game. The Wildcats will next host Xavier on Sunday, while DePaul travels to Marquette on Tuesday.
