Thu Feb 06 03:10:21 UTC 2025: ## Andhra Pradesh’s Girijan Cooperative Corporation Raises Coffee Purchase Prices
**VISAKHAPATNAM, February 6, 2025** – The Girijan Cooperative Corporation (GCC) in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, has announced a price increase for coffee purchased from tribal farmers. The new prices reflect a rise in international coffee prices and aim to support the farmers’ welfare, according to GCC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Kalpana Kumari.
Arabica parchment coffee will now be purchased at ₹400 per kg, up from ₹350, while Arabica cherry coffee will fetch ₹250 per kg, an increase from ₹230. The price for Robusta cherry coffee remains unchanged at ₹160 per kg. These revised rates are effective immediately for the 2024-25 season.
In addition to the price hike, the GCC has also announced the successful organic certification of coffee and pepper crops across 2258.55 hectares of land belonging to 2,600 farmers in Chintapalli and GK Veedhi mandals. Certified areas include Gondipakalu, Lambasinghi, and Kappalu clusters in Chintapalli, and Pedavalasa, GK Veedhi, and Erracheruvulu clusters in GK Veedhi.
A dedicated helpline, 7013070990, has been established at the GCC Central Office in Visakhapatnam to address any complaints regarding coffee purchases.
