**Tiruchi, February 6, 2025** – Air India Express will relaunch daily flights connecting Chennai and Tiruchi starting March 22nd, offering travelers a much-needed alternative to the currently sole operator, IndiGo. The new service will depart Chennai at 6:45 PM, arriving in Tiruchi at 7:45 PM, with the return flight leaving Tiruchi at 8:15 PM and landing in Chennai at 9:15 PM.
This marks a return to the route for Air India Express, which previously served the sector as part of a longer Chennai-Tiruchi-Singapore route. Airport authorities have confirmed receipt of official notification regarding the service commencement, anticipating a boost in domestic passenger traffic.
Tiruchi MP Durai Vaiko expressed his delight at the news, crediting his and Perambalur MP Arun Nehru’s persistent advocacy with the Civil Aviation Minister for fulfilling this long-standing demand of local travelers. Vaiko further stated his intention to continue lobbying for additional Air India Express services from Tiruchi to Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and New Delhi.
