**Kozhikode, Kerala, February 6, 2025** – Two men, P.K. Shahul Hameed and P.P. Athul, both 28, were arrested in Kozhikode on Wednesday for allegedly trafficking MDMA. The Anti-Narcotics Squad apprehended the suspects at a lodge in Kunnamangalam with 28.13 grams of the drug, reportedly smuggled from Bengaluru.
Police stated the duo primarily targeted schoolchildren and college students in Kunnamangalam and Karanthur. This arrest follows a tip-off and weeks of surveillance based on resident complaints. Both individuals have prior drug trafficking arrests in Kozhikode.
The Anti-Narcotics Squad, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Arun K. Pavithran, has intensified its surveillance at various locations including railway stations, bus stands, malls, beaches, and educational institutions to combat drug trafficking.
