**Hyderabad, February 5, 2025** – A major fire broke out at Sarvodaya Solvents Pvt Ltd, a chemical factory in the Industrial Development Area (IDA) Cherlapally, on Tuesday evening. While no casualties were reported, the blaze caused significant damage, including the collapse of a factory structural column.
Seven fire tenders responded to the emergency call at 6:36 p.m., finally bringing the fire under control around 9 p.m. According to Medchal-Malkajgiri District Fire Officer V. Srinivas, the factory was closed for maintenance at the time of the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest sparks may have ignited the fire, though a full investigation is underway.
The fire spread to the adjacent Mahalakshmi Rubber Company, intensifying the blaze and causing some respiratory discomfort among nearby residents, police reported. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the incident.
