**Hyderabad, February 5, 2025** – The Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) launched a crackdown on illegal dumping in city lakes, apprehending several truck drivers and seizing their vehicles. In two separate incidents on February 3rd, HYDRAA personnel caught four tipper trucks and an excavator illegally dumping soil in Umdasagar lake at Jalpally. Separately, another truck driver was apprehended dumping debris in Devulapally Cheruvu in Petbasheerabad. All seized vehicles have been handed over to the respective police stations (Bandlaguda and Petbasheerabad), and cases have been filed. The actions highlight HYDRAA’s ongoing efforts to protect Hyderabad’s water bodies from environmental damage.
