**Sivaganga, Tamil Nadu – February 5, 2025** – A junior engineer with the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (Tangedco) was arrested on Tuesday for accepting a bribe. Sivakumar, an engineer at the Ilayangudi rural office in Sivaganga district, was apprehended by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) after demanding and receiving ₹1,500 from a consumer, Ramesh, 35, for a simple name change on a consumer account. The arrest followed a complaint filed by Ramesh after Sivakumar’s bribe demand. DVAC officials, led by DSP John Britto, caught Sivakumar red-handed during a sting operation.
