Tue Feb 04 09:29:19 UTC 2025: ## Jaipur Court Transfers Custody of Girl After YouTube Videos Highlight Parental Neglect

**Jaipur, Rajasthan –** The Rajasthan High Court has transferred custody of an 11-year-old girl and her 7-year-old brother to their mother, citing negligence by their paternal grandparents. The decision follows the discovery of several YouTube videos created by the girl, including one showing her handling a syringe.

Justice Pankaj Bhandari deemed the grandparents’ supervision inadequate, highlighting their alleged irresponsibility in allowing the children’s unsupervised access to social media and potentially hazardous objects. The girl’s YouTube account, containing approximately 130 videos, raised concerns about her well-being.

The mother’s lawyer presented the videos to the court, arguing that the grandparents, due to their age, were unable to provide proper care. Concerns were raised about the girl’s diet and overall health.

The paternal grandfather, however, denied knowledge of the videos’ content, claiming they were filmed before the children’s father passed away a year ago. He further accused the maternal grandmother of manipulating the situation and controlling the girl’s YouTube channel. He intends to appeal the court’s decision in the Supreme Court. The case underscores the growing concerns surrounding children’s safety and the impact of social media on their upbringing.
