**Kuala Lumpur, Feb 3, 2025** – India emphatically defended its ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup title on Sunday, defeating South Africa by nine wickets in a dominant final. This victory follows their initial triumph in 2023. India’s success extended beyond the match, as four of its players – Gongadi Trisha, G Kamalini, Ayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma – were named to the tournament’s Team of the Tournament.
Trisha, named Player of the Tournament, was the top scorer with 309 runs, including the first-ever century in the competition, and also took seven wickets. Shukla claimed 14 wickets, while Sharma impressed with 17 wickets, including a hat-trick.
