**Jaipur, [Date]** – The Rajasthan Cabinet today approved a significant overhaul of university nomenclature, renaming chancellors and vice-chancellors as “Kulguru” and “Prati Kulguru” respectively. The decision, announced by Ministers Jogaram Patel and Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary following a cabinet meeting at Chief Minister Bhajan Lal’s office, is part of a broader set of policy changes.
Beyond the title change, the cabinet greenlit the Rajasthan Data Policy, offering substantial incentives to attract data center investment. The first three data centers investing over ₹100 crore will receive an additional ₹100 crore incentive, along with exemptions from stamp duty, land conversion charges, and electricity tariffs. This initiative aims to promote the establishment of environmentally friendly “Green Data Centers.”
The cabinet’s announcements also included details of a recently tabled anti-conversion bill. Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar clarified that marriages deemed to be undertaken for the purpose of religious conversion (“love jihad”) could be annulled by family courts under the proposed legislation.
This follows a similar move in Madhya Pradesh last year, where a bill to change the title of Vice-Chancellor to “Kulguru” was approved. The Rajasthan changes represent a significant shift in the state’s higher education landscape and its approach to data infrastructure and religious conversions.
