Mon Feb 03 20:18:17 UTC 2025: ## Kejriwal Accuses Election Commissioner of Bias, BJP of Violence Ahead of Delhi Elections

**New Delhi, February 4, 2025** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal on Monday accused Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar of bias and the BJP of orchestrating violence in the run-up to the Delhi elections. Kejriwal claimed that the CEC is acting in exchange for a post-retirement position, urging him to uphold his duty and resist such alleged influence.

Addressing a press conference, Kejriwal alleged a deteriorating law and order situation, citing instances of AAP workers being assaulted, and citizens threatened and coerced into supporting the BJP. He claimed that police inaction indicates complicity in the violence. He further warned that a BJP victory would lead to the oppression of ordinary citizens.

Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor dismissed Kejriwal’s accusations as a sign of defeat, criticizing his language towards the CEC and Delhi Police. Kapoor highlighted Kejriwal’s lack of confidence in the Delhi electorate as evidence of impending defeat. The BJP spokesperson characterized the press conference as Kejriwal’s preemptive concession of defeat. The accusations and counter-accusations come amidst heightened tension as the Delhi elections approach.
