Mon Feb 03 17:10:48 UTC 2025: ## IAS Officer Appointed as Karaikal District Collector
**Puducherry, February 4, 2025** – Soma Sekhar Apparao, a 2021 IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, has been appointed as the new District Collector of Karaikal. The appointment was announced Monday by Puducherry Chief Secretary Sharat Chauhan. Apparao, currently serving as Sub Collector (South) in Puducherry, replaces D. Manikandan, who has been transferred to Raj Nivas as Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor.
