**NELLORE, Andhra Pradesh (February 4, 2025)** – Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy lauded the central government’s substantial investment in Andhra Pradesh’s railway infrastructure. Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced a ₹9,417 crore allocation for the state’s railway development, marking an elevenfold increase compared to the ₹886 crore received during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) regime.
Reddy attributed this significant funding to the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, highlighting that ongoing railway projects in the state currently total ₹84,559 crore. He specifically thanked the Centre for the ₹103 crore allocated to upgrade Nellore railway station.
The MP also noted the introduction of eight Vande Bharat trains across 16 districts, with more planned for the future. The central government is also investing in track upgrades to allow for train speeds of 110-160 kilometers per hour, aiming to improve transportation across the state.
