**New Delhi, [Date of Publication]** – The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the provisional answer key for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session 1. Candidates who appeared for the exam can now access and download the answer key from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The answer key will remain accessible for a period allowing candidates to challenge any answers they believe to be incorrect. A fee of ₹200 per question will be charged for each challenge, as per the NTA’s policy from the 2024 JEE Main exam.
The JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam was conducted in two shifts (9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM) from January 22nd to 30th, 2025. The exam comprised two papers: Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech admissions and Papers 2A and 2B for B.Arch and B.Planning, respectively.
**How to Download and Challenge the Answer Key:**
Candidates can download the answer key and raise objections by following these steps on the official website:
1. Visit jeemain.nta.nic.in.
2. Locate and click the “Challenge(s) regarding Answer Key” link.
3. Log in using application number and password.
4. Select the questions to be challenged.

**Session 2 Registrations:**
Online registrations for JEE Main 2025 Session 2 have been underway since February 1st and are expected to see an increase following the release of the Session 1 answer key.
**Exam Details and Penalties:**
JEE Main Paper 1 includes Section A (MCQs) and Section B (numerical answer type questions). Negative marking applies to both sections. The NTA will deduct one mark for each incorrect answer. Candidates using unfair means or appearing at an unauthorized center will have their results cancelled. No appeals will be entertained in such cases.
Many state governments offer free coaching programs to engineering aspirants, due to the high cost and competitiveness of JEE Main coaching. Several states provide free residential coaching programs, often specifically targeting SC/ST students. Examples include Bihar, Assam, Delhi, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
The NTA will announce the results at a later date. Further updates will be provided on the official website.
