Tue Feb 04 13:25:25 UTC 2025: ## Trump Jr. Accused of Illegally Hunting Protected Ducks in Italy

**Venice, Italy** – Donald Trump Jr. is facing criminal accusations in Italy after a video surfaced showing him allegedly shooting protected duck species, including a rare Ruddy Shelduck, in a conservation area near Venice. The video, published on Trump Jr.’s own website, Field Ethos, depicts the hunt taking place in the Pierimpie’ valley, a protected area under both Italian and European Union law.

Italian environmentalist and politician Andrea Zanoni has filed a formal complaint with the judiciary, alleging that Trump Jr. hunted without the necessary permits and violated wildlife protection laws. The complaint has been escalated to the Italian Environment Ministry by MP Luana Zanella, who is seeking an official explanation for the incident. Monica Sambo of the Democratic Party of Venice has also condemned the actions, highlighting the violation of protected species regulations within the sensitive Venice lagoon ecosystem.

Zanoni emphasized the seriousness of the offense, stating that Italy’s natural resources are not for the exclusive use of foreign nationals. The Ruddy Shelduck is protected under the European Union’s Birds Directive.

This is not the first time Trump Jr. has faced controversy over hunting practices. In 2019, he drew criticism for hunting a rare Argali mountain sheep in Mongolia without proper permits. His website, Field Ethos, has also been criticized for promoting trophy hunting. The current incident has reignited debate in Italy about hunting regulations and conservation efforts. Calls for prosecution are growing amidst widespread condemnation of Trump Jr.’s alleged actions.
