**New Delhi, February 7, 2025** – Over 1.56 crore voters in Delhi are heading to the polls today to elect their representatives for the 70-member Delhi Legislative Assembly. Voting began at 7:00 AM and will continue until the evening. This election is considered highly competitive, with the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) aiming for a third consecutive victory against a strong challenge from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a struggling Congress.
All 70 constituencies will see 699 candidates vying for seats across 13,766 polling stations. The Election Commission has made special arrangements for differently-abled voters, designating 733 polling stations for their convenience. The Election Commission reported receiving over 7,500 complaints via the C-Vigil app, with the vast majority resolved.
The campaign saw intense campaigning by all three major parties, each promising various free services to attract voters.
