Mon Feb 03 18:06:59 UTC 2025: ## Kerala’s Small Industries Demand Boost for Enterprise Forums
**KOCHI, February 3, 2025** – The Kerala State Small Industries Association (KSSIA) has called for strengthening the state’s enterprise forums, known as ‘Samrabhaka Sabhas’, urging panchayats to actively support new investments. KSSIA president A. Nisaruddin highlighted the significant benefits panchayats would receive from increased industrial activity and associated revenue.
Established in 2022-23 as part of the state’s ‘Year of Enterprises’ campaign, these forums aim to streamline the process of setting up businesses. They bring together entrepreneurs, government officials, and representatives from various sectors to facilitate access to schemes, loans, and marketing support. Nisaruddin advocated for official district-level inaugurations and regular performance reviews of these forums.
The ‘Year of Enterprises’ campaign, now in its third year, has reportedly facilitated the creation of 3.42 lakh new units, generating 7.27 lakh jobs and attracting over ₹22,005 crore in investments. The new enterprises are spread across manufacturing, services, and trading sectors. Nisaruddin also noted the encouraging collaboration between banks and the state government in providing loans to new ventures.
