**Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, February 3, 2025** – The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) plans to build a new stadium in Anantapur, according to Chairperson A. Ravi Naidu. However, land acquisition issues are currently delaying the project.

Mr. Naidu visited the District Sports Authority (DSA) office on Monday, inspecting existing facilities and inquiring about ongoing projects. He confirmed that a 15-acre site near the Central University of Andhra Pradesh has been identified, but acquiring the land has proved challenging. He stated that alternative locations are being explored and that the stadium’s construction will proceed with the assistance of local MLA Daggubati Venkateswara Prasad.

Further plans include establishing a Sports Training Centre in Anantapur, funded jointly by the SAAP and the central government. Mr. Naidu also noted that previous allocations of ₹27 crore for Kreeda Vikas Kendras (KVKs) during 2014-19 were neglected by a subsequent government. He emphasized the NDA government’s commitment to sports development, highlighting plans for improved infrastructure in KVKs and multi-purpose stadiums across the state.
