Mon Feb 03 17:48:12 UTC 2025: ## Kerala CM Urges Political Unity Against Central Neglect
**Kannur, Kerala – February 4, 2025** – Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has called for a united front among all political parties in the state to oppose what he describes as the central government’s continued neglect of Kerala. Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)’s Kannur district conference on Monday, Mr. Vijayan accused the Union government of withholding funds and development projects rightfully due to the state.
He specifically criticized the Centre’s failure to approve an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for Kerala despite previous assurances, and its omission of Kerala’s demands in the latest Union Budget. The Chief Minister also highlighted the lack of central assistance for the Vizhinjam port project, a crucial infrastructure project he claims would significantly benefit the national economy. Mr. Vijayan asserted that Kerala is not seeking handouts but demanding its rightful share of resources as a state within the Indian Union.
