**Madurai, February 3, 2025** – A dispute over lawyer fees led to a violent attack in Tirunelveli district, police reported. S. Muthu, 30, allegedly assaulted his co-accused in an attempted murder case, M. Pandithurai, 41, with a boulder in K. Pudur on Saturday.
Both men are facing charges of attempted murder filed by the V.K. Puram police. Muthu claimed he had paid the lawyer’s fees and demanded ₹1,000 from Pandithurai, who offered only ₹500. This sparked an argument, culminating in Muthu attacking Pandithurai, causing a head injury.
Muthu has been arrested and charged with assault and criminal intimidation. The incident occurred after a court hearing Pandithurai missed on January 21st, while Muthu attended.
