**Kolkata, February 2, 2025** – Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha concluded his competitive cricket career on Saturday, as Bengal clinched an innings victory over Punjab in their final Ranji Trophy group match at the Eden Gardens. The 40-year-old, who had announced his retirement earlier this season, was carried off the field by his teammates in a touching tribute.

Saha, a Siliguri native who rejoined Bengal after a stint with Tripura, enjoyed a highly successful career. His Test career included 40 matches, 1,353 runs (three centuries), 92 catches, and 12 stumpings. He also played nine ODIs. His first-class career spanned 17 years, yielding 7,169 runs (14 centuries), 346 catches, and 38 stumpings across 142 matches. Saha further amassed significant runs in List A and T20 cricket, and enjoyed a successful IPL career with five franchises, contributing 2,934 runs, 92 catches, and 26 stumpings in 170 matches.
