**Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh –** A 21-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped, strangled, and burned to death in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, police reported Saturday. Her brother-in-law, Ashish, has been arrested and charged with the crime, while two accomplices, Shubham and Deepak, remain at large.
The woman was reported missing on January 23rd from Bavana village. Investigations revealed that Ashish had been pressuring the victim to marry him. Police allege that Ashish, along with Shubham and Deepak, lured the woman from her home, gang-raped her, and then strangled her to death. They subsequently attempted to destroy evidence by burning her body.
Following Ashish’s arrest, he confessed to his involvement in the crime. The woman’s charred remains have been recovered and are undergoing forensic examination. A case has been registered, and police are actively pursuing the two remaining suspects. Authorities have pledged a thorough investigation and strict action against all those involved.
