**Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh:** A record-breaking 118-member foreign delegation, comprising diplomats and heads of mission from 77 countries and their spouses, participated in the sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam during the Maha Kumbh Mela on Saturday. The event, a confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers, saw the delegates express immense joy and appreciation for the experience.
Ambassadors from various nations lauded the organization and cleanliness of the event, highlighting the profound spiritual atmosphere and the richness of Indian culture. Many described the experience as transformative, emphasizing the sense of peace and unity they felt.
Victor Chaveri, Colombia’s Ambassador, called it a “wonderful experience,” emphasizing the spiritual power and message of peace emanating from the Kumbh Mela. Similar sentiments were expressed by the wife of the Russian Ambassador, Diana, who praised the event’s organization and the spiritual peace she found. Ambassadors from Slovakia, Cuba, and Ecuador shared equally positive accounts, with the Ecuadorian Ambassador fulfilling a childhood dream of bathing in the sacred Ganges waters.
Senior BJP leader and MLA Siddharth Nath Singh attributed the event’s success to world-class arrangements and collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs, noting the significant interest in the Maha Kumbh Mela from across the globe. Uttar Pradesh Energy Minister AK Sharma added that over 30 crore people, both domestic and international, have already participated in the sacred dip, with projections indicating a total nearing 45-50 crore. Both officials highlighted the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees. The event showcased India’s cultural richness and spiritual significance to a global audience.
