Sat Feb 01 21:48:14 UTC 2025: ## Deadly Air Ambulance Crash Kills Seven in Philadelphia

**Philadelphia, PA –** A medical transport jet crashed in a densely populated Philadelphia neighborhood on Friday evening, resulting in seven fatalities and 19 injuries. The Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, based in Mexico, crashed shortly after takeoff from Northeast Philadelphia Airport, creating a massive fireball and widespread damage.

The aircraft, a Learjet 55, was carrying six people, including a child and her mother returning from treatment at Shriners Children’s Hospital, and four crew members. All six onboard perished, along with one person on the ground. Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed all victims were Mexican citizens.

The impact zone spanned several blocks, damaging houses, businesses, and cars. Authorities are still assessing the full extent of the damage and are working to identify all victims and injured. While most of the injured were treated and released from local hospitals by Saturday, at least three remained hospitalized.

Philadelphia Managing Director Adam Thiel stated that it could take days to determine the final casualty count due to the extensive damage and the number of unknowns regarding bystanders’ locations at the time of the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A Jet Rescue spokesperson, Shai Gold, emphasized the company’s rigorous maintenance and training protocols, expressing shock and surprise at the incident. The crash occurred just two days after a separate, deadly mid-air collision in Washington, D.C. The investigation into the Philadelphia crash is ongoing.
