**Madurai, February 3, 2025** – A police constable, Shiva, was stabbed to death in Madurai district on Sunday, police reported. The assailant, identified as Arjun, was the brother of Shiva’s deceased first wife, who died by suicide in 2017. The attack occurred in Pappinayakkanpatti, where Shiva had attended a function. He was declared dead on arrival at the Usilampatti Government Hospital.
In a separate incident on Saturday, A. Murugan, 60, was hacked to death in T. Kallupatti. Police believe the murder may be linked to a prior feud between Murugan’s son, Mani, and one Rajasekaran and his associates. Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
