Sun Feb 02 18:31:17 IST 2025: ## IOCL and TANKER Foundation Inaugurate New Dialysis Units in Chennai
**Chennai, February 2, 2025** – The TANKER Foundation, in partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), inaugurated nine new haemodialysis machines at its Ambattur dialysis unit today. This initiative addresses the critical shortage of affordable kidney care in India, where a staggering 250,000 people die annually from kidney failure.
The TANKER Foundation, operating 14 dialysis units across Tamil Nadu, aims to provide subsidized treatment to underprivileged patients. IOCL’s contribution extends beyond financial support, encompassing awareness campaigns, screening programs, and the provision of creatinine machines for early detection of kidney disease.
N. Senthil Kumar, Director (pipelines) and acting Director (P&BD) at IOCL, and L.K. Jha, Executive Director and Regional Head, Southern Region Pipeline, attended the inauguration ceremony. The event underscored the urgent need for increased access to affordable and quality kidney care in India.
