**New Delhi, February 2, 2025** – Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal has accused the BJP of attacking his party workers in the run-up to the Delhi Assembly elections. In a letter to the Election Commission of India (ECI), Kejriwal demanded the deployment of independent observers in his New Delhi constituency and the arrest of those allegedly involved. He also called for the suspension of concerned police officers.
The letter cites several alleged incidents, including an assault on AAP MLA Mohinder Goyal during a public rally on February 1st. Goyal, the AAP candidate for Rithala, was reportedly attacked while interacting with residents in Sector 11, Rohini. Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also wrote to the ECI, alleging similar attacks and obstruction of AAP campaigning by BJP workers.
Kejriwal is contesting the New Delhi constituency against BJP’s Parvesh Verma and Congress’s Sandeep Dikshit. Voting for the Delhi Assembly elections is scheduled for February 5th, with results to be announced on February 8th. Neither the BJP nor the Delhi Police have yet responded to Kejriwal’s allegations.
