Sun Feb 02 14:41:16 UTC 2025: ## ISRO Unveils New FEAST Software at IIT-Hyderabad Meeting

**Hyderabad, February 2, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) showcased the latest version of its Finite Element Analysis of Structures (FEAST) software at the 8th national finite element developers’ meeting held at IIT-Hyderabad on Saturday. Over 250 industry leaders, academicians, and researchers attended the event, which focused on promoting domestically developed finite element-based structural analysis software.

ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan, in a video message, highlighted FEAST’s capabilities and the importance of self-reliance in software development. He emphasized the software’s crucial role in upcoming projects, including the Human Mission, Bharatiya Antariksh Station, and Next Generation Launch Vehicle.

Developed by ISRO’s Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC), FEAST is a structural analysis software utilizing the finite element method. It’s applicable across various engineering fields, allowing engineers to simulate and test designs virtually. VSSC Director S. Unnikrishnan Nair underscored the significance of this self-reliance, particularly in numerical simulation software. He also announced the nearing commercial launch of Pravaha, an indigenous computational fluid dynamics software also developed by VSSC.

The meeting included design competitions using FEAST, quiz contests, and an exhibition detailing the software’s development and applications. IIT-Hyderabad Director B.S. Murty was also in attendance.
