**New York, NY** – “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) is pulling out all the stops to commemorate its 50th anniversary. This weekend, NBC will air a special retrospective, culminating in a three-hour live anniversary special on Sunday, February 16th, at 8 p.m. ET.
The network is also providing viewers with multiple ways to celebrate SNL’s golden anniversary. On Saturday, February 15th, at 10 p.m. ET, NBC will re-air the very first SNL episode, featuring George Carlin, Billy Preston, and Janis Ian. Leading up to the anniversary special, NBC will also re-broadcast two recent episodes — the season 49 finale with Jake Gyllenhaal and Sabrina Carpenter (10 p.m. ET) and the November 9th, 2024 episode with Bill Burr and Mk.gee (11:30 p.m. ET).
This season has already seen a remarkable lineup of A-list hosts and musical guests, including Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, and Stevie Nicks, to name a few. For a deeper dive into SNL’s history, a four-part docuseries, “SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night,” and a three-hour documentary focusing on its musical guests, “Ladies & Gentlemen… 50 Years of SNL Music,” are now streaming on Peacock. Another special, “SNL50: The Homecoming Concert,” hosted by Jimmy Fallon, featuring performances from iconic musical guests, will also stream on Peacock on February 14th.
