Sun Feb 02 15:12:45 IST 2025: ## India Crushes South Africa to Win U19 Women’s T20 World Cup

**Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia** – India has convincingly defended its U19 Women’s T20 World Cup title, defeating South Africa in a dominant display at the Bayuemas Oval. The defending champions showcased their superior skills throughout the tournament, culminating in a comprehensive victory in the final.

South Africa, unbeaten in their campaign, won the toss and elected to bat first. However, India’s spin trio of Vaishnavi Sharma (15 wickets in the tournament), Aayushi Shukla (12 wickets), and Parunika Sisodia proved too much for the Proteas. Early wickets, including the dismissal of key batter Jemma Botha, left South Africa struggling at 30/3 after 8 overs. Despite a fighting innings from van Voorst, South Africa managed only 83 runs, a total easily surpassed by India’s powerful batting lineup.

India’s openers, G Trisha (player of the match, with 44* and 3-15) and G Kamalini, continued their dominant form from the group stages and Super Sixes. They guided their team to victory with relative ease, reaching the target in under 12 overs, and with only one wicket down. Trisha, tournament’s leading run-scorer with 300 runs, displayed exceptional form throughout the innings.

The Indian team’s performance throughout the tournament was nothing short of spectacular. Their victories were marked by impressive margins, often chasing down low totals in remarkably few overs. Their bowling attack consistently outperformed opponents, keeping run rates incredibly low and making it exceptionally difficult for rivals to score.

While South Africa put up a commendable fight, their batting lineup, relatively untested in previous matches, ultimately couldn’t match the combined firepower of India’s bowling and batting. The final showcased the clear gap in performance between the two finalists, highlighting India’s dominance as the undisputed champions of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2025.
