**Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia** – India has convincingly defended its U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup title, defeating South Africa by nine wickets in a one-sided final match. Chasing a modest 83-run target, India cruised to victory in just 11.2 overs, losing only one wicket. Opener Trisha Gongadi led the charge with an unbeaten 44.

India’s bowling attack earlier dismantled South Africa, restricting them to a meager 82 runs in 20 overs. Gongadi starred with the ball as well, taking three wickets. Parunika Sisodia, Aayushi Shukla, and Vaishnavi Sharma each claimed two wickets, showcasing the dominance of India’s spin attack. Only Jemma Botha and Mieke van Voorst offered any significant resistance for South Africa.

Gongadi was named both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament, accumulating an impressive 309 runs and 7 wickets throughout the competition. She dedicated her awards to her father, highlighting his crucial support.
