Winning the toss, England elected to field. India made one change to their playing XI, resting Arshdeep Singh and bringing in Mohammed Shami.
The match was highlighted by a breathtaking innings from Abhishek Sharma, who smashed a whirlwind 86 runs off just 29 balls, including four boundaries and nine sixes, narrowly missing a century.
