**NEW DELHI** – The Indian government unveiled significant changes to its income tax structure in its 2025 budget, introducing revised tax slabs under the new tax regime. A key highlight is the exemption of income tax for individuals earning up to ₹12,00,000 annually. Salaried individuals opting for the new regime will enjoy even greater relief, with tax exemption extended to ₹12,75,000. Further boosting tax benefits, the Section 87A rebate has been substantially increased from ₹25,000 to ₹60,000 under the new regime.
